描述
we shuold write a dae implementation - https://github.com/ISISComputingGroup/genie/blob/main/src/genie_python/genie_dae.py is for the current system. we also need a way of switching between the two and/or making it persistent per instrument.
for now probably most of the stuff we haven't implemented can just raise NotImplementedError but we should spin off tickets for things that this is the case for so we don't forget them.
some stuff just won't make sense to carry over - in this case just make them return None probably.
