Start with the three functions the issue names: NodeNetworkInterface::disconnect_input, NodeNetworkInterface::tagged_value_from_input, and TaggedValue::from_type_or_none. Reproduce the steps in the issue (draw two rectangles, open the data panel, delete the bottom layer) to see where None first appears. Done means the data panel no longer shows None after a layer is deleted, with a test covering the deletion case if the repo has a suitable harness.
