The payload names no source files, so begin by finding where the space key is handled and where the keyboard switches between the letter layout and the numeric/symbols layout in the Kotlin source. Done means that pressing space in numeric/symbols mode keeps that layout, while the "?123" and "ABC" keys still switch modes as before. Check that behaviour by hand on a device or emulator, since the payload mentions no automated tests.

Feature description
At the moment, if one enters the numeric/symbols mode (ie presses the “?123” key) and at some point it adds a space, the keyboard goes back to “normal” mode. So, if one has not finished using the symbols in the numeric/symbols mode it has to press “?123” once again.
In my opinion, this is very inefficient and annoying. The keyboard should switch from one mode to another only when explicitly requested, that is when pressing “?123” in the normal model or “ABC” in the numeric/symbols mode.
