Start by locating the .cljconf directory and the code or documentation that reads configuration from $HOME/.clojure or $HOME/.config/clojure; those paths are the entry points named in the issue. Check how a directory rename would affect existing users and whether there is a migration or compatibility expectation. Done would mean the project has decided whether to rename it and, if so, the configuration remains discoverable and usable.

Suggestion: rename .cljconf directory to cli-repl
The configuration files for Clojure CLI REPL feel challenging to discover, as they are contained within the .cljconf dot directory which is also in the $HOME/.clojure or $HOME/.config/clojure directory.
Unless there is a longer term need for a .cljconf dot directory, it would be easier to manage the config within a normal (non-dot) directory.
Specific issues I have
- I forget .cljconf is there
- Its easy to mistake
.cljconfbeing related to Clojure CLI rather than Clojure CLI REPL (maybe the two will merge in the future)
