Problem
Hive is not supported.
Proposed solution
A registry plugin over HiveServer2's Thrift protocol, or the HTTP transport where the cluster exposes it. The repo has no Thrift client today, so the protocol code is new.
- Kerberos, LDAP and no-auth. Kerberos can follow the SQL Server plugin, which gets its ticket through Apple's GSS framework (
apple/Plugins/MSSQLDriverPlugin/MSSQLKerberosCredentials.swift); that code lives in the SQL Server plugin today and would move somewhere both plugins can reach. - Databases, tables and partitions in the sidebar.
- HiveQL in the editor, with query progress and a cancel mapped to the operation handle.
