Start by reading the existing DynamoDB and BigQuery plugins to understand how registry plugins handle authentication and connection settings. Then trace how connections, sidebar database objects, query cancellation, and query insights are implemented. Done means an Athena plugin supports the proposed API operations, connection options, Glue browsing, cancellation, and bytes-scanned insights.

描述
Problem
TablePro has no way to query Athena, so anyone working on S3 data through a Glue catalog has to leave the app for the AWS console.
Proposed solution
A registry plugin over the Athena API (StartQueryExecution, GetQueryExecution, GetQueryResults), signed with SigV4:
- Auth by access key, AWS profile or AWS SSO, through the shared AWS code in
apple/Plugins/TableProPluginKit/AWS/.AWSCredentialResolver.swift:72already resolves all three, and a profile with arole_arnassumes that role. The DynamoDB plugin uses the same path (apple/Plugins/DynamoDBDriverPlugin/DynamoDBPlugin.swift:101). - Region, workgroup, catalog and S3 output location on the connection form.
- Glue Data Catalog databases and tables in the sidebar.
- Cancel mapped to
StopQueryExecution. - Data scanned per query shown with the result, the way the BigQuery plugin reports bytes processed (
apple/Plugins/BigQueryDriverPlugin/BigQueryPluginDriver+Execution.swift:291), since that is what an Athena query costs.
Alternatives considered
The Athena query editor in the AWS console. No saved connections, no local history, no export.
