The payload names no files, so start by finding the existing background color option and tracing how it reaches the map rendering, then locate where coastlines and grid lines are drawn. Expose coastline color, grid line color, and grid line dash pattern as user settings in the same way. Done means all three options appear in the app and change the rendered output; check with the app running on sample E3SM data.
