- Configure a custom provider in
~/.commandcode/providers.json. - Use an environment-variable reference for the key; do not include the real key.
- Start Command Code CLI.
- Open the CLI model picker and verify that the custom provider models are listed.
- Select one of the custom models and confirm that a request succeeds.
- Quit Command Code Desktop completely.
- Reopen Command Code Desktop.
- Open the Desktop model picker.
- Observe that the custom provider and its models are not listed.
- The built-in Command Code models remain visible.

The Desktop model picker should load the same custom BYOK provider and model entries from ~/.commandcode/providers.json that are available and working in the CLI.
