Research direction

Start with package.json, .github/workflows/ci.yml, and eslint.config.mjs; inspect how the Next.js app, CLI package, and tests are structured under lib/ and components/. Add and configure an unused code check, then review its findings and exceptions. Done means the check passes on main, the listed build and test commands still pass, and bundle sizes do not grow.

Description

dependencies difficulty: easy enhancement help wanted v2.0.0

Summary

A codebase that grew by many contributions keeps exports, files and packages nothing uses. Run an unused-code check once, delete what it finds, and add it to CI so the next one is caught in review.

Part of the 2.0.0 plan: fewer, better and fully tested studios, on a calmer and faster site.

Where to look

  • package.json (dev dependencies) and .github/workflows/ci.yml
  • eslint.config.mjs
  • lib/ and components/

Behaviour

  • Add a tool such as knip with a config that knows the Next.js app, the CLI package and the tests.
  • Delete the unused files, exports and dependencies it reports, or list a real exception with a reason.
  • Run it in CI as a non-blocking report first, then blocking once it is clean.

Acceptance criteria

  • The check passes on main with every exception explained.
  • pnpm build, pnpm test and the CLI build still pass.
  • The bundle sizes do not grow (pnpm bundle:size).

Getting started: fork the repo, then pnpm install and pnpm dev (Node 22+, pnpm 11, no API keys). Before opening a PR, run pnpm typecheck && pnpm test && pnpm lint && pnpm format:check && pnpm check:dashes && pnpm build (CI fails on unformatted files, so pnpm format first). See CONTRIBUTING.md and the first contribution walkthrough.
