Research direction

Read prerequisites #78 and #79, then inspect frontend/src/services/http.ts and the public Go handlers to understand the selected architecture. Use the documented namespaced XML fixtures as the starting test material. Done means success, cancellation, malformed XML, unavailable-service, status/error, bounds, entity-resolution, retry, and stale-response cases are covered.

Description

android difficulty: advanced enhancement help wanted needs testing

Roadmap: #76

Outcome

Provide one tested transport/adapter for the anonymous reader using the architecture selected in #77.

Done

  • Decode the documented namespaced XML fixtures and tolerate unknown optional fields.
  • Preserve HTTP status and safe error details for 404, 429, 5xx, timeouts, invalid XML, and non-XML errors.
  • Bound response processing, disable external XML entity resolution in any new parser, and avoid retrying permanent failures.
  • Support cancellation and prevent an obsolete request from replacing newer route/locale data.
  • Exercise success, cancellation, malformed response, and unavailable-service cases against fixtures.

Start: #78, frontend/src/services/http.ts, and public Go handlers. Reuse a proven adapter if the selected shell supports it. Do not expand this into an authentication client or a JSON API migration.

Prerequisites: #78, #79.
