Research direction

Start with the device matrix in #119 and the release artifacts in #120, then use a controlled test channel and device. Verify clean installation, upgrade retention, and recovery from unsupported or corrupt local data. Record artifact, configuration, expected and observed results, and link any release-blocking defects; rerun affected checks after fixes.

Description

android difficulty: intermediate enhancement help wanted needs testing

Roadmap: #76

Goal

Validate install/upgrade behavior for a candidate build before public distribution.

Acceptance criteria

  • Install a clean candidate on the supported test configurations and verify startup and public reading.
  • Upgrade from the previous supported test build and verify retained preferences and compatible local data.
  • Test unsupported/corrupt local data with an explicit recovery result instead of a crash.
  • Record artifact identity, device configuration, expected result, and observed result.
  • Link release-blocking defects as individual issues and rerun only the affected checks after fixes.

Start: Release artifacts from #120 and device matrix from #119. Use a controlled test channel/device; this task does not publish a production release.

Prerequisites: #119, #120.
