Start from vcell-client/.../geometry/gui/OverlayEditorPanelJAI.java: the CONTRAST_COLORS array at line 95 and the ROI combo box swatch/name rendering at line 803. Use tools/debug-bridge to run the client and check whether hover or selection on the canvas names the ROI under the cursor; if not, add that name to the hover readout, mirroring the subvolume fix from #1605. Done means the first 6 default colors satisfy ΔE′ ≥ 10 under protan/deutan/tritan simulation and color-audit.md row X2 can be marked verified.

Follow-up from the #1605 color audit, row X2 (docs/accessibility/color-audit.md).

Finding. The image-based geometry ROI editor gives each ROI a color from OverlayEditorPanelJAI.CONTRAST_COLORS (vcell-client/.../geometry/gui/OverlayEditorPanelJAI.java:95). The sequence starts red 0xFF0000, green 0x00FF00, blue…, so the first two ROIs are the red/green pairing. The ROI combo box shows a swatch and the ROI name (:803). The audit did not verify whether the canvas names the ROI under the cursor. If it doesn't, telling painted regions apart depends on color.

Tasks.

  1. Check in the running client (tools/debug-bridge) whether hover or selection names the ROI.
  2. If it doesn't, add the ROI name to the hover readout, as the geometry viewer fix under #1605 does for subvolumes.
  3. Reorder CONTRAST_COLORS so red and green are not adjacent defaults.

Acceptance.

  • In a deuteranopia-simulated screenshot, every ROI region can be matched to its name.
  • The first 6 default ROI colors measure ΔE′ ≥ 10 under protan, deutan and tritan simulation.
