Mô tả

Motivation

During an interview, interviewees often navigate long code snippets or discuss specific line numbers referenced by the interviewer. Currently, the editor lacks a distinct active line highlight (similar to LeetCode or VS Code), making it harder to visually track the caret's position quickly.

Adding an active line highlight—alongside visual aids like #254—will improve readability and debugging focus in the editor.

Proposal

Enable the renderLineHighlight: 'all' option in the Monaco Editor initialization settings. This provides a distinct background highlight for the entire line where the caret is currently placed without affecting the interview flow.

The expected user flow is:

  1. The user enters the interview and clicks or types in the Monaco Editor.
  2. The line containing the caret displays a clear background highlight across both the gutter and the code area.
  3. Moving the caret to another line moves the highlight accordingly.

Environment

  • OS: Windows 11 (x86_64)
  • Browser: Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge
