The payload names no files or entry points, so start by locating the document viewer and how it currently handles scroll position in this Android app. The open questions are what counts as a large document, how to identify each document (the issue suggests a hash), where to store the state, and how JavaScript reads the position. Settle those with the maintainers before coding. Done means the position is saved per document, restored on reopen, and readable from JavaScript.

What is a large document? Not sure. I think we should just use this feature for all our documents.

The position in the document should be easily accessible by JavaScript.

We would need to keep the state for the document somewhere and we would need to identify each document (e.g. hash).
