Start in the GitHub Pull Request View code that renders the changed-file tree and the "file viewed" checkbox, then inspect how their click targets overlap. Reproduce with a click near the checkbox's left edge and compare it with clicks on the other edges. Done when clicks inside the checkbox toggle viewed state without collapsing the directory, while clicks on the collapse control still work.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Check out a PR
  2. Go to the GitHub Pull Request View
  3. Place the pointer fully inside the "file viewed" checkbox, but near the edge
  4. Click the mouse
  5. Observe that it collapses the item instead of checking the box

This screenshot shows a pointer click location that will not check the box:

Observe that there is clear space inside the checkbox on all sides of the pointer.

And yet, clicking here toggles the collapse/expand of the directory instead.

Interestingly, the hitbox boundary is precisely placed on the right, top, and bottom sides.
