Start with packages/runtime/e2e/keyframes.test.ts lines 19-21, which assert animation-duration 1s after the runtime applies animate-fade animation-fast, and run the focused WebKit repeat command from the issue. Compare the static stylesheet output with the runtime-inserted CSSOM rules for the same classes to see where 0.15s comes from. Done means the focused test passes repeatedly and the full browser suite passes without loosening the assertion or adding timeouts.

Observed failure

The runtime browser suite fails in WebKit after changing an element from animate-fade to animate-fade animation-fast.

packages/runtime/e2e/keyframes.test.ts:19-21 expects animation-duration: 1s after the runtime observes the new class. WebKit sometimes reports 0.15s instead.

Reproduction and results

  • Full suite on the local candidate: 668 passed, 1 failed, with the failure in WebKit at the assertion above.
  • Focused repeated suite: 13 passed, 2 failed; the same shorthand test fails in 2 of 3 repetitions. This is intermittent, not a claim of deterministic failure on every run.
  • Chromium/Firefox pass in the full run.

Acceptance

  • Determine whether CSSOM insertion/invalidation, cascade order, an upstream WebKit behavior, or the test's expectation causes the discrepancy.
  • Compare static stylesheet output with runtime insertion/removal for the same classes and token values.
  • Preserve the intended shorthand/longhand contract and direct override behavior; do not merely increase timeouts or change the expected value to hide the difference.
  • Repeat the focused test successfully and pass the full browser suite on the final candidate.

This issue tracks an observed release-validation failure; its root cause is not yet established.
