I do not know if this happens to every held package, but I will tell you what happened to my system. I held systemd with apt-mark hold, and some days later, I updated it with mintupdate. Then, when I rebooted, I was met with errors. Almost—or maybe all of—my system was removed. I just want this to be fixed, so that nobody falls victim to this.
