Hướng nghiên cứu

Start with docs/development.md, CHANGELOG.md, the README, and the referenced plans in #255–#262; use their feature matrix and limitations as the source for launch claims. Create the specified issue and PR templates and CONTRIBUTING.md, then draft release notes and announcement materials. Done means the ★ acceptance criteria are met, make check passes, and each capability claim is traceable to a Supported row in #262; several repository settings and publishing steps require maintainer action.

documentation

Artifact: implementation-ready issue (LAUNCH-G of the Public Alpha EPIC #255). This issue body is the authoritative copy; the working copy was drafted in the maintainer's local session scratchpad and is not kept elsewhere. Baseline: main at 711ff09, read on 2026-10-21 (UTC). Planning created this issue only: no code, branch or PR.

Parent: #255 · Priority: P1; its Gate 7 items are launch-blocking (marked ★ below) · Gate: 7 (Release readiness) · Blocked by: #261, #262 [native] · Blocks: nothing

Summary

Prepare a small, developer-focused launch: the repository presents itself clearly, early users have an obvious way to report bugs and give feedback, contributors know how to contribute, and there is a short, accurate set of launch materials. This is bounded to the first Public Alpha announcement; it is not a marketing campaign.

Verified current state (711ff09)

  • .github/ holds only workflows/ci.yml: no issue templates, no PR template, no CONTRIBUTING, no CODE_OF_CONDUCT. GitHub Discussions are disabled. The repository has a description ("Autonomous orchestration for AI-driven software development.") and no topics.
  • docs/development.md (make targets, CI) is the closest thing to a contributor guide; AGENTS.md is the contract for coding agents working in the repository.
  • CHANGELOG.md has one "Unreleased" entry (Pi).

Scope

  1. ★ Feedback channel. Issue templates (.github/ISSUE_TEMPLATE/): bug report (version, OS, providers, command, redacted status --json and the failing message — with an explicit "never paste tokens or unredacted logs" warning), feature request, and a config.yml pointing questions and general feedback to Discussions (or another channel the maintainer chooses) and security reports to SECURITY.md (#257). A short PR template.
  2. ★ CONTRIBUTING.md: how to set up the development environment (from docs/development.md), run make check, the scope and review expectations, the relationship to AGENTS.md for agent-authored contributions, that AutoForge never merges agent PRs automatically, and how issues are triaged during the Alpha. Optionally a CODE_OF_CONDUCT (maintainer decision).
  3. ★ Release notes for the first Public Alpha version: a CHANGELOG.md section in the format #256 defines, and the GitHub release text — what the release contains (by capability, matching #262's feature matrix), Known limitations (collected from the EPIC's conditions, #257's disclosed Medium findings and #260's limitations), the compatibility summary (#256) and the feedback link.
  4. Repository presentation (maintainer settings): description aligned with the approved positioning, topics, social preview image, website link if any, pinned issue or Discussion for Alpha feedback.
  5. Launch materials: a short technical demo asset derived from #261's real run (terminal cast or short video, labelled with the commit and configuration; never a re-enactment presented as a run); one announcement post (for example a GitHub Discussion or blog post) and short versions for one or two developer communities the maintainer chooses. Every claim in them maps to a Supported row of #262's matrix; Experimental items are labelled as such.
  6. The demo link in the README, if #262 merged before #261 closed.

Acceptance criteria

  • ★ Issue templates, the config.yml routing, and a PR template exist; the bug template asks for redacted diagnostics and warns against pasting secrets.
  • ★ CONTRIBUTING.md exists and is linked from the README.
  • ★ The release-notes section and GitHub release text are drafted, with Known limitations and the feedback link; every capability statement maps to #262's feature matrix.
  • ★ The feedback channel is live (Discussions enabled or the chosen alternative) — maintainer action.
  • Repository presentation is updated (maintainer action).
  • The demo asset and announcement drafts exist and were checked claim-by-claim against the feature matrix (this check is recorded in the PR or on this issue).
  • make check passes.

Only the ★ items gate the launch. If the non-★ items (presentation, demo asset, announcement drafts) are not done when the ★ items are, this issue may close with them moved to a linked follow-up issue that is not a hard blocker of #255; the move is recorded in the closing comment.

Out of scope

Paid promotion, a website, a newsletter, metrics dashboards, community moderation policy beyond CONTRIBUTING, and anything after the first announcement. Publishing the release itself is the EPIC's Go/No-Go step.

Executor and maintainer actions

Agent-implementable: templates, CONTRIBUTING, release-notes and announcement drafts. Maintainer actions: enable Discussions (or choose another channel), repository description/topics/social preview, approve and publish the announcement.
