Additional notes for reviewers

Beacon is an open-source, local-first telemetry agent that records what coding agents do across Copilot CLI, VS Code, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and 20+ other harnesses. This plugin turns that history into reviewed project memory:

  • beacon-memory-recall: before a task, retrieves lessons the team already approved for the current repository.
  • beacon-memory-distill: reviews selected sessions, drafts a lesson grounded in the source trace, and saves it only after the user confirms.
  • beacon-memory-promote: installs an approved lesson as a project Agent Skill.

The plugin root (agent-skills/) carries an Agent Plugins 1.0 plugin.json, skills/, and an mcp.json that registers the local beacon mcp serve server (stdio, read-only memory tools). The skills and MCP server need the open-source Beacon CLI on PATH; without it the skills tell the user how to install it and continue without memory. Recall and promote make no network calls; the one optional networked step (trace evaluation in distill) runs only after a dry run and explicit user consent.

The entry passes validateExternalPlugin under the publicSubmission policy with no errors or warnings. Copilot CLI can already install it directly: copilot plugin marketplace add asymptote-labs/agent-beacon, then copilot plugin install beacon@beacon
