TestA2AServer_MultipleRequests (e2e/a2a_test.go:89) failed once during a full local task test run, then passed 3/3 when run alone and on a full rerun.

Where: startA2AServer, which the test calls at a2a_test.go:93. The agent-card request returned 404 instead of 200:

Environment: macOS (darwin), task test with .env.test, upstream main at e7f1ec394 plus test-only changes in unrelated packages (pkg/modelsdev, pkg/runtime, pkg/model/provider/anthropic; PR #4686). Nothing touching A2A, the server or e2e/.

Observation:

  • The server listens on :0 (all interfaces), and the test requests http://localhost:<port>/.well-known/agent-card.json right after starting a2aserver.Run in a goroutine.
  • A 404 means some HTTP server answered. A server that isn't ready yet would give a refused or hanging connection instead.

Hypotheses, not verified:

  1. The request reached another server. localhost can resolve to ::1 or 127.0.0.1, and a parallel test may own the same port number on the other address family.
  2. Run serves before the agent-card route is registered.

Listening on and requesting an explicit 127.0.0.1 would rule out the first. Polling the card until it answers 200, with a deadline, would make the test robust to the second.
