Start at the getAppInfo helper and the platform setup path that calls xcrun simctl appinfo. Reproduce on Xcode 27 with the app uninstalled and HARNESS_APP_PATH set, then inspect how the command’s exit code is handled. Done means setup installs the app and the simulator run proceeds when appinfo reports no application record; a linked pull request is already open.

On Xcode 27, an iOS simulator run fails at startup when the app is not already installed on the simulator. Harness does not install it from HARNESS_APP_PATH, and the run aborts with:

DOMException [AbortError]: The operation was aborted

Harness checks whether the app is installed with xcrun simctl appinfo. getAppInfo expects the command to succeed and print a one-entry plist for a missing app, which is what Xcode 26.5 does. On Xcode 27, simctl appinfo exits with code 3 instead:

An error was encountered processing the command (domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain, code=3):
Simulator device failed to lookup application properties for com.margelo.nitro.example.
No application record found for that bundle identifier

spawn throws on the non-zero exit, so platform setup fails and the session aborts.

To reproduce, use Xcode 27, uninstall the app from a booted simulator, and run Harness with HARNESS_APP_PATH set.
