Summary

@ibm-cloud/watsonx-ai is IBM's official Node.js SDK for the watsonx.ai foundation-model service, providing text generation and chat execution against IBM's hosted models (Granite family and others) over a REST API. This repo has zero instrumentation for this SDK — no channels, no wrapper, no auto-instrumentation config, and no e2e scenario reference it anywhere.

What's missing

The SDK's execution surface is a WatsonXAI service client instantiated as:

Its primary generation method is textChat(params), which accepts messages (role/content array), modelId, projectId/spaceId, and maxTokens, and returns a response read via result.choices[0].message.content — directly analogous to chat.completions.create() for OpenAI-shaped providers, which this repo does instrument for other vendors. None of WatsonXAI, textChat, or any watsonx-related identifier appear anywhere in js/src/ (repo-wide case-insensitive search for "watsonx" returns zero matches).

Braintrust's integrations page notes unlisted providers can be connected via its generic AI Proxy or OpenTelemetry endpoint, but there is no watsonx-specific wrapper, guide, or trace processor documented.
