Start in scripts/normalize-data.ts and scripts/seed.ts to see how offers.json rows are normalized and seeded, then check src/lib/mock-data.ts. Add student_resources.json with deduplication by normalized name and claim-URL hostname, mapping its four buckets to kind. Done means the seed runs without duplicate offers, at least 40 flagship programs have deadline, recurrence, amount, provider and eligibility filled, and /deadlines renders them.

Tracked from docs/2026-09-18-improvement-plan.md (§2, §4 Phase 1 Content 1–3, Appendix A).

Currently, StudentStack has 0 scholarships, 0 fellowships, 0 internships, 0 mentorship programs, and 0 deadlines in its 593 rows. Meanwhile, diffing resources.tensorboy.com/resources.json (151 items) against our database shows 91 net-new resources missing from StudentStack, including 30 of 31 scholarships/fellowships and 23 of 26 internships/mentorship programs.

Scope & Implementation Plan

1. Import student_resources.json (91 net-new rows after dedup)
  • Add student_resources.json from resources.tensorboy.com/resources.json (as originally planned in the Agent-Brief).
  • Deduplicate against offers.json by normalized name and claim-URL hostname.
  • Map tensorboy's 4 buckets to kind:
    • tools_and_software (10 net-new: Leonardo.ai, Auphonic, Google Workspace for Education, Zoom for Education, DigitalOcean $200, SolidWorks Student, Todoist, Zoho Young Creators, Oracle Academy Cloud, Atlas School) → perk
    • certifications_and_courses (28 net-new: SWAYAM, NPTEL, Google Career Certificates, MS Learn Student Ambassador, Coursera for Campus, AICTE Digital Skilling, Cisco NetAcad, Udacity scholarships, HubSpot Academy, Trailhead, Semantic Scholar, Elicit, etc.) → perk / program
    • scholarships_and_fellowships (30 net-new) → scholarship / fellowship
    • internships_and_mentorship (23 net-new) → internship / mentorship / program
  • Map "Program Value" to amount / tagline.
2. Hand-curate deadlines, opensAt, recurrence, amount, and eligibility for ~40 flagship recurring programs

Populate verified 2026 dates & recurrence from docs/2026-09-18-improvement-plan.md (§4 Phase 1.2 & Appendix A):

  • Open-source & tech programs: GSoC (Mar 16–31), MLH Fellowship (Fall deadline Aug 31; 3 batches/yr), LFX Mentorship (3 terms: Mar/Jun/Sep), Outreachy (2 cohorts/yr), Season of KDE (Jan 14), GirlScript Summer of Code, Summer of Bitcoin, FOSSEE Summer Fellowship, Smart India Hackathon, Hacktoberfest.
  • Indian fellowships & social impact: Young India Fellowship (Mar 23), Gandhi Fellowship (Mar 31), LAMP Fellowship (Dec 21), Teach For India (Nov 1), SBI Youth for India (13-month, ₹16k/month).
  • Indian scholarships (Govt & Foundation): PM-USP, NMMS, Indira Gandhi Single Girl Child, UGC Merit, Ishan Uday, INSPIRE, CSIR-JRF, ICMR-JRF, DBT-JRF, GATE scholarship, Ramanujan Fellowship, WOS-A, AICTE Pragati, AICTE Saksham, Reliance Foundation, Narotam Sekhsaria, KC Mahindra, JN Tata Endowment, Aga Khan Foundation, Tata Cornell, Google Generation Scholarship.
  • Global scholarships & research internships open to Indians: Chevening, Commonwealth, Fulbright-Nehru, Rhodes India, Erasmus Mundus, DAAD WISE, Mitacs Globalink, Khorana Program, Charpak Lab, Gates Cambridge, Schwarzman, Knight-Hennessy, SURGE (IITK), SPARK (IITR), IAS SRFP, Infosys InStep, TCS Research.
3. Add curated Mentorship set (Phase 1.3)
  • Free mentorship & early-career programs: ADPList (free, 40k+ mentors), Mentor Together (India, free), MicroMentor, UStrive, Women Techmakers, Rewriting the Code, ColorStack (tag US/CA region), Microsoft Engage (2nd-year), Google STEP.
  • Paid mentorship platforms (explicitly labeled as paid/discounted): Preplaced, Topmate, MentorCruise, Codementor.

Acceptance Criteria

  • student_resources.json (or unified seed dataset) is added and normalized in scripts/normalize-data.ts + scripts/seed.ts without duplicating existing offers.json rows.
  • At least 40 flagship scholarships, fellowships, internships, and open-source programs have structured deadline, recurrence, amount, provider, and eligibility fields populated.
  • Mentorship programs from Appendix A are seeded with kind = 'mentorship'.
  • /deadlines renders real upcoming, closing-soon, and past-cycle programs out of the box.
