Check the Steam client and SteamOS behavior around update 20260925.101; done means non-Steam apps launch from Gaming Mode instead of returning to the Play button without an error.

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
  • I'm trying trying to launch non steam apps in gaming mode, like usual. Today nothing launch, either flatpaks like stremio, vacuumtube from discovery or non-steam games i've intalled myself.
  • I press the play button, says launching for a few seconds before returning back to play, without any error message. It was working fine yesterday night.
  • I applied the lastest update this morning (20260925.101), thinking it was gonna help, but no luck.
  • I also tried reinstalled them, but i get the issue.
  • launching them as they are in desktop, without going steam works fine.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
  1. I press play to launch a non-steam game/apps in gaming mode.
  2. Launching for a few seconds before halting
  3. launching goes back to play and nothing happens.
