Start by reading the existing MongoDB registry plugin and the JSON viewer it already uses, then trace how database connections and collections appear in the sidebar. The issue does not name files or tests. Done means Couchbase connections support the listed cluster settings, the sidebar shows buckets, scopes and collections, and the editor, document grid and index list work as described.

Problem

Couchbase is not supported.

Proposed solution

A registry plugin over the Couchbase REST and query APIs:

  • Cluster host, user, password and TLS on the connection form, with Capella endpoints working as they come.
  • Buckets, scopes and collections in the sidebar.
  • SQL++ (N1QL) in the editor, documents in the grid through the JSON viewer MongoDB already uses.
  • Index list per collection, since a SQL++ query without one behaves very differently.
