Start with TaskCard.tsx and compare its delete callback with the showEditModal state in TaskClickPopup.tsx. Then trace TaskFormModal.tsx to understand the existing edit and create paths. Done means each task card has a copy icon that opens the create flow with the selected task's information prefilled, while leaving the original task unchanged.

Description

Currently there is no easy way to copy all information from an already made task into a new task and slightly edit it, forcing the user to have to remake it from scratch.

The idea for this ticket is to take advantage of functionality that is already present (AKA the TaskFormModal.tsx modal) and create a new type of setting for this task called "Make From Task". This is essentially a Create Task but just autofills in the information from whatever task you clicked it from.

Acceptance Criteria
  • Add a copy icon next to the Delete icon in on every task card
  • When clicked, this icon will open the TaskFormModal.tsx and fill in all the information (again, the logic is already there for edit, it is simply about adapting it and making some adjustments)
  • Ensure it operates as expected with the description above
Proposed Solution
  • Look at TaskCard.tsx. Copy the way that delete handles its callback and instead, just trigger a new state called showMakeFromModal (use TaskClickPopup.tsx's showEditModalstate as reference).
  • Ensure to make all the proper switches (AKA, instead of editing you are creating so it will use the create logic in TaskFormModal.tsx. The best way to do this is by adding a new boolean to the props of the component probably named something like makingFrom.
    Then for example:
title={task?.title ? 'Edit Task' : 'New Task'}

would become

title={task?.title && !makingFrom ? 'Edit Task' : 'New Task'}
