Start with the two real defects: Demo/DemoChat/Sources/MiscStore.swift:55 still requests .textModerationLatest, and Demo/DemoChat/Sources/UI/Images/ImageCreationView.swift:78 builds ImagesQuery without a model, while Demo/DemoChat/Sources/ImageStore.swift:44 swallows the error with print. Done means the moderation and image calls succeed against the API and failures surface to the user. The three case-design mismatches (C-03, R-04, M-03) are separate test-case edits and need maintainer direction first.

Result of running the demo-release-check skill on 2026-10-27 (scope: all).

Environment: iPhone 18 Pro simulator, iOS 27.0, git 16ff850 (clean, branch release-prep-0.6.0).
Totals: 28 pass, 5 fail, 0 blocked, 1 skipped.

Two of the failures are real Demo defects (X-04, I-02). The other three are mismatches between a test case and the app or iOS (C-03, R-04, M-03). Not fixing now; this issue records them.

Failures

X-04 Moderation chat: real Demo defect

Sending I love puppies in Misc → Moderation Chat shows the API error Invalid value for 'model' = text-moderation-latest. Please check the OpenAI documentation and try again.

Demo/DemoChat/Sources/MiscStore.swift:55 requests .textModerationLatest, which the API now rejects. omni-moderation-latest is in the account's model list.

I-02 Create an image: real Demo defect

Image → Create Image, prompt a plain red circle on a white background, default size. Tapping Create Image shows no progress, no alert and no image. The log shows that every tap sends a request and the API answers HTTP 400. Replaying the same body (prompt, n, size) with curl gives:

Two problems:

  • Demo/DemoChat/Sources/UI/Images/ImageCreationView.swift:78 builds ImagesQuery(prompt:n:size:) without a model, and the API requires one.
  • Demo/DemoChat/Sources/ImageStore.swift:44 only does print(failure) under a TODO: Better error handling, so the user never sees the error.
C-03 Model selection sheet: case vs. platform

The "Select model" dialog is shown as a popover on iOS 27 and has no Cancel button. The case expects one. It dismisses by tapping outside and the header stays unchanged. The same is true of the dialog in C-06. Either update the case, or add a visible Cancel if one is intended.

R-04 Function calling with stubbed result: case design

With the steps as written, Web Search (on by default) is also enabled and the model answers through it (a "mostly clear and 53°F (12°C)" reply), so the Stub Function Result sheet never appears. Reproduced in 2 runs.

With Web Search turned off, the sheet appears ("get_current_weather … Location: Paris, Unit: celsius") and the final reply says it's 21°C, so the app is fine. Suggested fix: add "turn Web Search off" to the case's steps.

M-03 Responses with MCP tools and approval dialog: case design

With the steps as written, the connection starts with 0 tools enabled and Web Search is on. The model answers via web search and no MCP approval dialog appears.

With Enable All Tools on and Web Search off, the MCP Tool Permission Request for list_issues appears. It appeared twice, with different fields arguments in each, and after approving both the request finished with a reply and no alert. Suggested fix: the case should enable the GitHub tools and turn Web Search off.

Skipped

  • I-03 Create an image edit: manual only (needs the photo picker). It still needs doing by hand.

Notes

  • M-02: after Disconnect the status returns to ✗ and the tool list empties (PASS), but the GitHub Token field still shows masked dots. The case's note says Disconnect clears the saved token. This might just be stale text in the field, but it wasn't checked whether the saved token is actually cleared.
  • X-06: the Assistants list came back empty with no error (valid per the case).
  • X-10: the uploaded demo-release-check.txt was deleted as the case's last step. Nothing was left on the account.

Run notes

  • Switches and some buttons (Choose File, the Settings toggles) ignored quick simulator taps. Holding the tap for 0.15 seconds worked. This is a tooling quirk of the simulator tap tool, not an app defect, but the skill's ground rules could mention it.
  • ° could not be typed through the simulator text tool (the paste silently failed), so in the R-04 diagnostic run 21C was entered instead of 21°C. The final reply still said 21°C.
  • The simulator panel first attached to a shut-down iPhone 17 Pro Max. Attaching to the booted device by UDID fixed it.
