Start by locating the Material You theme controls, preview card toggle, and About page card layout in the Avalonia UI. Trace how the selected accent color reaches buttons, sliders, the search box, and checkboxes, then inspect the toggle and page layout. Done when those controls follow the selected accent, both preview states work as described, and the information and Update cards sit side by side at equal widths on wider screens.

Summary

I noticed a few opportunities to improve accent color consistency in the Material You theme, make the preview toggle functional, and optimize the About page layout.

1. Improve accent color consistency

Some UI elements in the Material You theme do not appear to respect the currently selected accent color.

Issues observed:

  • Buttons: Actions such as Save, Add folder, and New use the default blue (#392eb8) instead of the selected accent color.
  • Slider thumb: The slider thumb also uses the default blue instead of the selected accent color.
  • Search box: The search box should follow the selected accent color where appropriate.
  • Checkboxes: When the Lavender accent theme is selected, checkboxes still use dark blue instead of the selected lavender accent.

Expected behavior:

  • Relevant UI elements should consistently follow the selected accent color.
  • The slider thumb can use a slightly lighter or subtler shade of the selected accent color while remaining visually consistent with the theme.
  • Changing the accent color should update these elements accordingly.
2. Make the preview card toggle functional

The toggle in the preview card currently appears to have no effect.

Proposed behavior:

  • Enabled: Show the donut preview inside a square with an accent-colored background, as it currently appears.
  • Disabled: Keep the donut preview visible, but remove the square's background fill and display only an accent-colored border around it.

This allows users to switch between a filled accent-colored background and a transparent background with an accent-colored outline, while keeping the donut preview visible in both states.

3. Optimize the About page layout

The Filee information card occupies considerable vertical space, making the About page longer than necessary.

Proposed improvement:

  • Place the Filee information and Update cards side by side.
  • Give both cards equal width on wider screens.

This would make better use of the available space and give the About page a more compact layout.
