Start by reading the Cardano Node documentation and locating the node's storage and ledger entry points; the issue names no files or tests. Determine how pruning could reduce on-disk blockchain data while keeping stake pool operation possible, then document a design and its tradeoffs before implementation. Done means the node can prune data without preventing stake pool operation.

Describe the feature you'd like
A pruning feature of Cardano Node, while keeping the possibility of running a stake pool. Similar to Bitcoin pruned node (https://bitcoin.org/en/full-node#reduce-storage).
With the inexorable and ongoing decline in the value of ADA, it's essential to allow SPOs to cut expenses. Reducing blockchain size will allow cloud SPOs to deallocate pruned space and pay less.
