Start in packages/backend/src/connectors/engines/ and read the SOAP engine to understand how WSDL operations become tools. Then assess how the requested .proto import or server-reflection flow, TLS client certificates, metadata headers, and unary-only limitation fit the existing connector pattern. Done means a gRPC connector supports those imports and auth options, with streaming methods identified as unsupported in the UI.

REST, SOAP/WSDL, GraphQL, SQL/NoSQL and MCP-to-MCP are supported. gRPC is the obvious gap, and internal services are increasingly gRPC-only.
Scope
- New connector type alongside the existing five.
- Import from a
.protofile or from server reflection, mapping each method to a tool the same way WSDL operations are mapped. - Auth: TLS client certificates and per-call metadata headers.
- Streaming methods are out of scope for a first version — unary only, and say so in the UI.
