What to build

Build the major-entry step with its text field, Back button and Continue button. Restore the previous entry when the student returns to this step.

Files

  • lib/screens/onboarding/major_step.dart (new file)
  • Starting example: lib/screens/onboarding_screen.dart
    Code to add or extend: MajorStep({initialValue, onSubmit, onBack}).

Steps

  1. Create StatefulWidget/controller initialized from initialValue; dispose controller.
  2. Render Major TextFormField, Next and Back using supplied callbacks. At this shell stage emit the entered value; final validation is its following task.
  3. Do not modify OnboardingScreen or write a profile here.

Example

initialValue Computer Science is visible; Back invokes onBack once.

Check it works

In test/screens/onboarding/major_step_10_test.dart, check the example above and the failure or limit described in the steps. Run flutter test test/screens/onboarding/major_step_10_test.dart and flutter analyze.
