Research direction

The issue names no source files or utilities yet. Start by confirming whether the wasi_ext feature is stabilized in current Rust, since the payload says it still needs nightly. Until it is, there is nothing to change, so this is blocked. Once it is stable, find the utilities that use the WASI-specific code path and switch them to the stable API. Done means those utilities build on stable Rust with the WASI target and their tests pass.

Description

awaiting upstream I - Tracker issue
