Research direction

Start with the nightly Jupyter build and the shown BuildKit command, comparing PYTHON_VERSION=python3.11 with the python3 executable used for pip installation. Confirm which interpreter receives the requirements and whether this is intentional; done means the build behavior is explained or the issue identifies a specific configuration change needed.

Description

sig build dockerfiles

Is it a deliberate choise to install and run Jupyter in system python3 (3.10 on ubuntu 22.04) and not the fresh installed python 3.11?

From the nightly jupyter build:
RUN |2 PYTHON_VERSION=python3.11 TENSORFLOW_PACKAGE=tf-nightly-cpu /bin/sh -c python3 -m pip install --no-cache-dir -r /jupyter.requirements.txt -U # buildkit
