Research direction

The menubar reports offline while the Syncthing web console shows it running, so the bug is in how the app reads the REST API state and maps it to the menubar icon. Start by finding where the app polls that status and turns it into the red or green indicator, then compare its result with what the web console reports on the same instance. Done means the icon matches the real running state on macOS 27, with the mismatch reproduced and covered by a check where possible. The issue does not name a file, so the code location must be found by searching.

Description

After updating to the latest version of Syncthing version 2.1.6-1 in macOS 27.0.1, I have noticed the status is not necessarily correct. The API indicates "red" as its state, but the Syncthing service is green, and going to the web console shows that it is running and syncing with other devices on my network. I am not aware of why the API is red in this case, but everything seems to be working?
