Research direction

Read ADR 0005 and the legacy printing references in Src/views/VwLayoutStream.cpp and Src/Common/SimpleRootSite/PrintRootSite.cs to understand the page layout behavior. The issue says this work is deferred until FieldWorks' print path changes; revisit then and establish the required scope before implementation.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

deferred

Legacy FieldWorks can print a view: pages, headers and footers, page numbers and dates, and page breaks that honour keep-with-next, keep-together and widow/orphan control (Src/views/VwLayoutStream.cpp, Src/Common/SimpleRootSite/PrintRootSite.cs). Those three paragraph properties take effect only when printing. The field carries them unchanged (ADR 0005).

Deferred by the owner, 2026-11-03. FieldWorks prints dictionaries through its web-based dictionary print, and that may change, but not now. Until then the field does no page layout.

Next: revisit if FieldWorks' print path changes.
