Research direction

Start by checking which test files exist and which ones load the model checkpoint, such as test_new_model.py, so they can be excluded from CI. Create a new workflow file under .github/workflows/ that installs only lightweight test dependencies, runs ruff or black in check mode, and runs pytest with the checkpoint-dependent tests skipped. Done when the workflow passes on main, fails on a deliberate lint error or broken test in a PR, and finishes in about five minutes.

Description

help wanted

Description:

There is no automated check on pull requests. Add a GitHub Actions workflow that runs on push and PR to main.

Scope:

Install only the lightweight dependencies needed for tests (no GPU, no checkpoint download).
Run a linter/formatter check (ruff or black).
Run pytest on tests that don’t need the model. Tests that load the checkpoint (e.g. test_new_model.py) must be skipped in CI.

Acceptance criteria:

The workflow passes on a clean main, fails on a PR with a lint error or a broken test, and finishes in under ~5 minutes.
