Abychom to neměli jednoduché, autoři mkdocs a mkdocs-material se spojili a založili firmu, kde vyvíjí nějakou novou generaci mkdocs: https://github.com/zensical/zensical Nevím jak mkdocs samotné, ale mkdocs-material prý teď dostaly poslední verzi, pak už budou jen security opravy.
