Descrição

work in progress

Problem

To trust Dev Proxy without installing its certificate system-wide, which is typical in CI, scripts need the root certificate as a PEM or CRT file. Today the options are:

  • GET /proxy/rootCertificate?format=crt, which requires a running instance and the API token,
  • openssl pkcs12 on rootCert.pfx, which is what the CI/CD docs show.

The cert command has only ensure and remove.

Proposal

Add devproxy cert export [--format pem|crt|der] [--output <file>]. It writes the public root certificate (creating the root if needed), works without a running instance, and prints the path. Reference it in the CI/CD and Node.js docs.

Found while evaluating how coding agents use Dev Proxy: VS Code + GitHub Copilot Chat with Claude Sonnet 5.5, Dev Proxy 4.0.0 on Windows, 5 runs of the task "add a CI script that starts Dev Proxy in the background, starts and stops recording through the API around npm start, and shuts Dev Proxy down through the API".
