Read that flow and run the provided data URL reproduction on macOS. Done when a miss-click no longer opens “About This Mac” and filling a focused editable field still replaces its contents.

  • agent-device 0.21.20 (managed web backend: agent-browser 0.27.1, Chrome for Testing 152.0.7977.54, headless)
  • macOS 26.6.2 (Tahoe), Apple M4 Max
  • Node v24.18.0

Description

On macOS, fill <x> <y> <text> on the web backend clicks the point and then presses Meta+a to clear the field. If the click doesn't land in an editable element, Chrome doesn't use the key and hands it to the macOS menu, and the system "About This Mac" window opens on the host. With agents filling forms all day, this happened about 15 times a day for us.

Control+a doesn't trigger it, and neither does Meta+a when an input has focus. Not a regression as far as we know.

Possible fix: select inside the page instead of sending a key, e.g. eval this in place of press Meta+a in the agent-browser provider's fill:

Output: Filled 1 chars, and "About This Mac" opens. The system log shows loginwindow: _handleAppleEvent | AboutThisMac event received right after Chrome for Testing logs performKeyEquivalent:.
