Direção de pesquisa

Start by locating the tray menu and Preferences implementations, then trace how the client reports VPN connection success, failure, and in-progress status. Check how settings are stored and how the tray menu is dismissed; done means the menu closes after the selected delay only on success, stays open on failure or while connecting, and the option works across its enabled and disabled states.

Descrição

feature
Problem description

Add an option to automatically close the Defguard Client tray menu a few seconds after a VPN connection has been successfully established.

Expected Behaviour

Successful connection: Automatically close the tray menu after a configurable delay (e.g. 3–5 seconds).

Failed connection: Keep the tray menu open so the user can immediately see the error and retry.

While connecting: Keep the tray menu open until the connection status is confirmed.

Proposed solution

Add a setting under Preferences:

Automatically close tray menu after successful connection

Enabled / Disabled

Delay: 3 / 5 / 10 seconds

Benefit

This would improve the user experience by eliminating the need to manually dismiss the tray menu after every successful connection, while ensuring that connection errors remain visible.
