Research direction
Start at the CLI's current installation entry point and trace how it selects the destination under /usr/local/bin. Review how user-local binary directories differ across Linux and macOS, then define the supported destination behavior and verify that installation completes without sudo.

Description
User installs of programs are very nice when you distrohop a lot or just don't want to sudo everything into /usr/local/bin, being able to install into a local binary directory such as .local/bin or whatever macos equivalent there is would be very handy
