Research direction

Read packages/ui/src/elements/StepNav/index.css to confirm the label truncation, then inspect the StepNav component and the component test mentioned in the linked branch. The linked pull request #18886 is already open with a proposed fix and failing test. Done means the full breadcrumb label can be read on hover and the component test passes.

Description

area: ui Bug created-by: Contributor
Describe the Bug

packages/ui/src/elements/StepNav/index.css caps every .step-nav__item except the last at calc(var(--spacer-6) * 4) (10rem) with text-overflow: ellipsis. Collection or document labels slightly longer than that are cut off, and the full text is not shown anywhere: there is no tooltip or title, and the item cannot be expanded.

Expected:

The full label can be read, e.g. on hover.

Actual:

The breadcrumb shows "Komponenty współdz…", and hovering shows nothing.

This branch has the proposed fix (a title with the full label on each breadcrumb item) and a component test that fails without it.

Reproduction Steps
  1. A collection with labels: { singular: 'Komponent współdzielony', plural: 'Komponenty współdzielone' } (or any plural label wider than about 10rem).
  2. Open a document in that collection.
  3. Look at the breadcrumb in the app header and hover the collection item.
