Research direction
The payload names no files, so start from the probes feature in the crate's Cargo manifest and the existing workflows under .github/workflows. Add a CI job that runs a cargo build with the probes feature disabled, such as --no-default-features if probes is a default feature. Done when that job runs green on a pull request and fails if the probeless build breaks.
