Research direction

The dead link comes from destination in src/authz-module/components/ErrorPage/index.tsx, which now uses getUrlByRouteRole('org.openedx.frontend.role.courseAuthoring') and gets undefined when authoring is not a frontend-base app. Compare with the pre-#210 version that used getConfig().COURSE_AUTHORING_MICROFRONTEND_URL, then choose between a config fallback and hiding the button when no URL exists. Done when the 404 page shows a working Back to Studio link on a non-frontend-base install, with no anchor lacking href.

Description

The error page's only action, "Back to Studio", does nothing on an install where the authoring MFE isn't part of the frontend-base site. Tutor main is one: authoring still runs as a separate legacy MFE. The button renders as an anchor with no href:

<a class="pgn__hyperlink default-link standalone-link m-2 btn btn-primary" target="_self">Back to Studio</a>

Clicking it leaves the route unchanged, so the reader has to edit the URL to get out of the 404.

Cause: the frontend-base migration (#210, merged via #227 on 2026-09-19) changed src/authz-module/components/ErrorPage/index.tsx from

destination={`${getConfig().COURSE_AUTHORING_MICROFRONTEND_URL}`}

to

destination={getUrlByRouteRole('org.openedx.frontend.role.courseAuthoring') ?? undefined}

getUrlByRouteRole only finds apps registered in the site with that role. When authoring isn't one of them, it returns nothing and the link has no destination. release/verawood renders the same view with a working link.

Expected: fall back to a configured Studio/authoring URL when no app provides the role, or hide the button rather than render a dead one.

Environment: Tutor main (overhangio/openedx-mfe:22.1.0-main), openedx-authz 1.23.0, 2026-09-22; code as on master 2026-10-12. Works on verawood. Found by the Open edX end-to-end test suite (BTR TC-00442).
