Research direction
Create the new directory languages/fortran/ with source, Dockerfile, run.sh, manifest.yaml and README.md, using languages/python and languages/php as structural references. The fiscal code rules live in SPECIFICATION.md, and the program must read one JSON object on stdin and write the result on stdout. Done means ./elc test fortran reports 87/87 passing.
Written by the indexing model from the issue text.
Description
Implement the Italian Fiscal Code algorithm in FORTRAN and get it verified by the shared test suite.
What to build
A program that reads one JSON object on stdin and writes the fiscal code (or an error) as JSON on stdout, exactly as described in SPECIFICATION.md.
$ echo '{"surname":"ROSSI","name":"MARIO","birth_date":"1980-01-01","sex":"M","birthplace_code":"H501"}' | ./elc run fortran
{"fiscal_code": "RSSMRA80A01H501U"}
Suggested setup
| Directory | languages/fortran/ |
| Family | historical |
| Docker base | gcc:14 (gfortran) (just a suggestion) |
