Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are named. Begin by locating the repository's existing instrumentation packages and reviewing the proposed FastMCP instrumentation, then determine how mcp.client.operation.duration and mcp.client.session.duration should be reported and tested.

Description

enhancement
What problem do you want to solve?

Because my work requires tracking the time consumption and failures of MCP calls, and our department uniformly uses FastMCP, I hope to add a FastMCP instrumentation package.

Describe the solution you'd like

I developed a fastmcp instrumentation that reports mcp.client.operation.duration and mcp.client.session.duration metrics. So I was wondering if I could contribute it to the community.
