Research direction

This issue is split from #51, but gives no files, tests, or implementation entry point. First read #51 and inspect the series page’s episode list to understand its watched badge and focus behavior. Triage must decide what to dim and how it should look on a TV; done means that visual decision is implemented and works alongside the badge.

Idea

Some apps dim the thumbnail or title of Watched episodes, so the episodes still to watch stand out in a long season list. This was deliberately left out of #51 (the watch badge restyle) because it's a separate visual decision.

To decide in triage

  • What to dim: the thumbnail, the title, or both, and how much
  • Whether it still reads well on a TV across the room. Dimmed text is harder to read at a distance, so dimming only the thumbnail may be enough.
  • How a focused Watched row looks: it probably shows at full strength while focused
  • Whether it adds anything once #51's Watched badge is on the thumbnail
