Research direction

The file list is built in scripts/zarr/find_collapsed_channel_stores.py with git ls-tree --name-only; start there and find the call. Check how PR 1808 changed the matching calls to -z and parse NUL-separated output the same way. Done when this script uses -z and a test shows a recording with a non-ASCII name is listed.

Description

bug zarr

scripts/zarr/find_collapsed_channel_stores.py builds its file list with git ls-tree --name-only, which C-quotes non-ASCII paths, so a recording whose name is non-ASCII is missed by the collapsed-channel detector.

The converter had the same defect in discovery and in its worklist. PR 1808 switches those calls to -z.

Fix: use -z in this script too, and add a test that a non-ASCII recording is listed.

Found while reviewing PR 1808; this file is not touched by that PR.
