Research direction

Read services/mtg/GLOSSARY.md for the tournament vocabulary, then inspect the tournament participant and result flows to understand how Accounts, Guests, and Registered decks are represented. Decide who can initiate and accept a transfer, its scope across tournaments, and how to handle an existing Account participant; done means these cases have a defined, safe transfer behavior.

Description

needs-triage

In the mtg tournament planner, a Participant is either an Account or a Guest (a bare name typed in by an Organizer). The first version gives no way to turn a Guest into an Account afterwards.

Think through how a Guest's results should best be carried over to an Account, e.g.:

  • who starts it (Organizer proposes, Account claims) and whether the Account must accept, so nobody gets foreign results on their profile
  • whether a Registered deck can be handed in afterwards, and as of which point
  • one Tournament vs. all Tournaments of the same Guest name
  • what happens if the Account is already a Participant of that Tournament

Vocabulary: services/mtg/GLOSSARY.md (Tournaments).
