Research direction

Start by reading the gen-api implementation and the example frontend's declaration and per-app script; the issue does not name their paths. Check how just gen-api example and just gen-api handle a declared backend without a service directory. Done means the example declares the example backend, both commands print a notice and succeed, and its per-app gen-api script is removed.

What to build

The example frontend ships a declaration that already names an example backend, so a copy only renames the backend. Since no services/example exists yet, gen-api skips a declared backend without a service directory with a notice instead of failing, and just gen-api over all frontends stays green.

Acceptance criteria

  • The example frontend has a declaration naming the example backend
  • just gen-api example and just gen-api print a notice for the missing backend and succeed
  • The example's per-app gen-api script is gone
